Does Piskes Finance Support Multiple Currencies? (Not Yet, Here's What's There)
The honest answer on multi-currency in Finance — the database has a currency field, but the interface only ever displays and formats USD.
Short answer: not today. Every amount you see in Finance's spending and budget views is formatted as USD, regardless of what currency the underlying record might carry.
What actually exists underneath
The data model behind spending and budgets does have a currency field, and it defaults to USD rather than assuming there's only one possible value. That tells you the schema was built with multi-currency in mind at some point. But the interface layer doesn't read that field to decide how to display an amount — every number gets run through the same fixed USD currency formatter no matter what's actually stored. In practice, that means the currency column exists but isn't doing any work yet.
Why this is worth stating plainly
Multi-currency support is a real, specific feature buyers screen for — it's one of the concrete reasons some businesses pick a tool like Xero over a lighter alternative. If your workspace operates in a currency other than USD, or across multiple currencies, Finance's spending and budget tracking will still record your numbers, but every dollar sign you see is genuinely a dollar sign, not a stand-in for your local currency.
What this doesn't mean
This isn't a promise that multi-currency support is coming, and it isn't a statement about priority or timeline — there's no roadmap commitment behind the schema detail above. It's simply the current state: the groundwork for the feature is visible in how data is stored, and the feature itself hasn't been built into the interface.
What to do in the meantime
If you're tracking spend in a non-USD currency today, treat the numbers in Finance as figures in your own currency that happen to display with a USD symbol, and don't rely on the app to convert or distinguish between currencies for you. For anything where the currency label itself matters — reporting to stakeholders, for instance — you'll want to track that context yourself, outside the app, until the display layer catches up with the schema.
