Business mail on your domain

Your domain.Your team’s mail.One admin page.

Piskes Mail is a business mailbox on your own domain, on the same platform as your files, tasks and customers. Verify the domain once, run the people and the mail rules from one admin page, and use the same verified domain to connect single sign-on for the workspace.

Your domain

Start on our subdomain. Move to yours.

A new workspace can take an address on a subdomain of mail.piskes.com, with no DNS of its own to touch. When you want name@yourcompany.com, you prove the domain is yours with one TXT record, then its DNS moves to the platform: the records it already has are copied across first, then the mail records are added for you.

SPF, DKIM and DMARC set for youThe records that decide whether your mail lands in an inbox are written by the platform, not pasted by hand from a help article.
A primary domain and its aliasesMake one verified domain the primary and another an alias of it, so every address exists on both. Mail to an address nobody has can go to one person you choose.
No mail server of your ownReceiving, storing and sending all run on Cloudflare. There is nothing to patch and no machine to keep online.

The inbox

The things you do forty times a day.

Conversations, not messages

Replies are grouped into a thread, and a thread is archived, labelled or snoozed as one thing.

e archives · z snoozes · r replies

Undo send and schedule send

Every send waits ten seconds before it leaves, or whatever you set from none to thirty. A scheduled message waits until the time you picked.

Per mailbox

Signatures and out-of-office

A signature per address, and an automatic reply with an end date so it does not keep answering after you are back.

Search inside every message

Subject, sender, the body and the names of attachments are indexed, so the word you remember is enough.

Bring your old mail as a file

Upload a .mbox or an .eml file into your own address or a shared one. Messages already in the mailbox are skipped. Outlook .pst files need exporting as .mbox or .eml first.

Your mail, as files

Export every message in your addresses as .eml files in one .zip, downloadable for a day.

Mail a team shares

sales@ and support@ are not one person’s problem.

Most small companies run a shared address as a password everybody knows. Here it is a mailbox with members.

A shared inbox with an assignee and an internal note on one thread

Shared mailboxes with an owner per thread

Add people to a shared address with the access each one needs, from reading it to sending as it. A thread can be assigned to one person, so everyone can see who has it, and colleagues can leave comments on it that the customer never receives.

Approval before it goes

A mailbox can require a second person to approve a draft before it is sent.

Confidential, with an expiry

Someone outside receives a link rather than the body, and the link stops working when it expires or you revoke it. It controls access; it is not encryption.

Large files as a link

Past five megabytes an outgoing file is offered as a download link, rather than a bounce you hear about later.

An admin list of people with storage used beside each name

The admin page

Rules mail has to follow, set in one place.

The workspace Admin console walks a new workspace through setup — a name, a domain, the owner’s address, the people — and is then where you add and suspend people, watch storage and set the rules mail has to follow. Single sign-on, directory sync and two-step sign-in for the whole workspace are set there too.

Data protection that stops a sendA rule can block a message, send it for approval, or warn the writer — checked on the server before the message is saved. A blocked message is refused with the rule’s name.
Retention and legal holdRetention rules, legal holds and mail-flow rules, with a log of the changes admins make to them. Mail under a hold is kept when a mailbox is cleaned up.
Suspend means nowA suspended person loses access to mail within about half a minute, not at the next sign-in. A mail admin can run all of this without also holding billing or search across everyone’s mail.

Guide

Verify your domain once.

Owner or admin · in Domains

01

Add your domain

Open Domains — only a workspace owner or admin sees it — type yourcompany.com under “Add your domain”, and keep “Separate addresses” or make it an alias of a domain you already have.

02

Prove it is yours

Add the TXT record Domains shows, named _workmail-verify, at your registrar, then press Verify. That usually takes minutes, sometimes up to an hour.

03

Point the nameservers here

Domains then shows the nameservers to set at your registrar. The domain’s existing records are copied across first, so your website keeps resolving. Usually a few hours, at most 24–48.

04

Check until mail is live

Press Check again. Once routing and sending are on, the domain says mail is live, and you can make it the primary domain.

05

Use it for sign-in too

In Admin › Security, connect the same verified domain to your identity provider for single sign-on. A domain that has not been verified in Domains cannot be connected.

Email campaigns verify separately. Piskes Email campaigns send through a Resend account of your own, and Resend checks the domain on its side; it does not reuse this verification yet. If the domain’s DNS is hosted here, you add the records Resend gives you on the same domain page in Domains.

Questions

The ones worth asking before you change your MX records.

What does it cost?

Nothing is charged today. Billing is not switched on, so there is no plan to buy and no price we can quote yet. When there is one, it will be on this page before anyone is asked to pay it.

How much storage do we get?

Thirty gigabytes per person, pooled across the workspace and shared with Piskes Drive. One person with a heavy mailbox draws on the pool, not on a fixed per-seat box.

Can we send a large attachment?

Up to five megabytes goes as a normal attachment. Anything larger is offered as a download link in the same message, so it arrives rather than bouncing. Incoming messages can be up to twenty-five megabytes.

Will our mail reach Gmail and Outlook inboxes?

It goes out through Cloudflare’s email sending, with SPF, DKIM and DMARC published for your domain. Nobody can promise an inbox; what we can say is that the records a receiving server checks are published for you.

Can we use our own domain?

Yes — the guide above is the whole process. Its DNS moves to the platform, with your existing records copied across first so your website does not go dark. It is the newest part of setup, so plan it for a quiet afternoon.

Can we leave?

Each person can export their mail as .eml files, which any mail program reads. An account that is deleted has its mail and files erased, except what a legal hold is keeping.

Set up one address. Send one message.

Name the workspace, take a subdomain, and write to someone outside the company. You will know within the hour whether the mail you depend on can live here, and the table above tells you what to check first.

Same sign-in as every Piskes app. No card, because there is nothing to charge it for yet.
