Campaigns, sequences and the list underneath them

Your list is your customers. Not an export of them.

Every email tool asks you to import a CSV, and from that moment you maintain two versions of the truth. Piskes Email sends to the contacts already in your CRM, so an unsubscribe, a name change or a closed deal is reflected in both because there is only one.

The argument

The two-list problem, and why it never resolves itself.

You export contacts on Monday. By Friday three have unsubscribed in the email tool, two have changed jobs in the CRM, and one has become a customer. Neither system knows what the other did, and the reconciliation is a job nobody is assigned.

One unsubscribeHonoured everywhere immediately, because there is one contact record and it has one preference.

No stale copy to leakThe list that does not exist is the list that cannot be left in an old tool after somebody leaves.

Sequences

An automation you can describe in one sentence.

01

Pick who

A segment of your CRM contacts. It stays live — somebody who matches tomorrow enters tomorrow.

02

Pick when

On joining the segment, on a date, or a number of days after the last step. That is the whole vocabulary.

03

Write the emails

Two or three, usually. A sequence that needs a flowchart to explain is a sequence nobody will edit in six months.

Details that decide it

The things you only notice after the second campaign.

Every send is previewed against a real contact

Merge fields resolved with actual data, so a missing first name shows up before ten thousand people see the gap.

Not a rendering preview — a data preview.

Opens are attached to the deal

A contact who opened three times this week appears on the CRM record as having done so, which is the only reason open tracking is worth anything.

Sending is throttled by reputation, not by plan

A new workspace ramps up over its first sends. It is slower on day one and it is why the mail arrives at all in month three.

The unsubscribe link is not negotiable

It is in every send and it cannot be removed, styled into invisibility or routed to a preferences page that hides it.

Pricing

By contacts you send to, not by contacts you store.

Storing a contact costs us nothing, so charging you for it is a way of taxing your archive.

Questions

Asked by everyone who has been burned once.

Do I need to use the Piskes CRM?

To get the argument on this page, yes — that is what the product is. You can import a CSV and it becomes contacts, which is the same thing arrived at from the other direction.

Can I use my own domain?

On Business, a dedicated sending domain with the DNS records to authenticate it. On other plans, sends are authenticated on a shared domain.

What is your position on buying lists?

Workspaces that send to purchased lists are suspended. It is not a policy statement; a shared sending reputation means one buyer’s list damages every other customer’s delivery.

Will my email land in the inbox?

Nobody can promise that, and a vendor who does is selling you something. What we do is warm new senders slowly, authenticate every send, and show you the bounce and complaint rates that predict the answer.

The obvious test.

Put your address in and see what an email built in this tool actually looks like when it arrives. One send, and you can leave in a click that we will honour immediately.

One email. The unsubscribe link works, which is rather the point.
