Campaign planning, budgets and creative briefs

The half of paid media that happens before anyone touches an ad account.

Deciding what to run, what it may cost, who it is for and what the creative must say — that work happens in a spreadsheet, a chat thread and somebody’s head. Piskes Ads is where it happens instead, next to the CRM that will tell you whether it worked.

A campaign plan with budget bands across a quarter

Read this first: Piskes Ads does not yet connect to Google, Meta or TikTok. It does not place ads, pull live spend or report platform metrics. It is a planning, budgeting and briefing tool, and the spend figures in it are the ones you record. If you need live platform management today, this is not that product yet.

Planning

What a campaign is, before it is an ad account.

A campaign here is a decision with a budget, an audience and a claim you intend to test — the things that are still true whichever platform you eventually run it on.

One objective, written down

A campaign carries the outcome it is meant to move and the number that would count as success. Filling this in is where half of bad campaigns get cancelled.

Audiences from your CRM

A segment of real customers — by stage, city, last purchase — described in the same language you will hand to the platform.

A quarter you can see

Campaigns on a timeline with their budgets stacked, so the month where three things overlap is visible before it is expensive.

Planned and actual spend for a campaign across a quarter

Budgets

The spend goes on the same ledger as everything else.

Marketing budget that lives in its own tool is marketing budget nobody reconciles. Record spend against a campaign here and it appears in Piskes Finance as cost, in the period it belonged to.

Planned against actualBoth figures on the campaign, in the campaign’s currency, computed in minor units like every other money figure on this platform.
A warning, not a surpriseA campaign passing its planned budget is flagged when it happens rather than in the monthly review.
Cost per outcome that means somethingAgainst deals in your CRM, not against a platform’s own conversion count, which is measuring the seller by the seller’s own tape.

Briefs

The creative brief, and where it goes.

01

State the one claim

What this campaign asserts, and the evidence for it. A brief with three claims produces creative with none.

02

Draft it in Content

Headlines and body drafted in Piskes Content, grounded on your own pages, so the claim in the ad matches the claim on the landing page.

03

Land it on a real page

A landing page built in Piskes Website Builder from the same brief, so the traffic you eventually buy has somewhere to go.

Questions

Mostly about the thing at the top of this page.

When will platform connections arrive?

We are not giving a date, because the last thing this page should do is trade one honest paragraph for an optimistic one. What we will do is tell existing workspaces first.

Is it useful without them?

If your planning currently lives in a spreadsheet and your spend is retyped into the accounts once a month, yes. If you were hoping to manage live campaigns, no, and we would rather you knew that now.

Where does the spend figure come from?

You record it, from the platform’s own billing. It is the same number you would have typed into the spreadsheet, and here it lands on the ledger instead.

Will pricing change when the connections land?

Not for workspaces already on a plan. And not to a percentage of spend, ever — that model prices a tool by how much you spend rather than by what it does.

Plan next quarter somewhere the finance team can see it.

Three campaigns free, and the honest limits are the ones at the top of this page rather than ones you find in month two.

No percentage of ad spend on any plan.
