Tiered Pricing for Distributors: Quantity Breaks Without a Spreadsheet

CareSuite's distributor price tiers let you define quantity-based pricing per product directly in the CRM, instead of a separate pricing spreadsheet your sales team has to remember to check.

If you sell to distributors or bulk buyers, quantity-based pricing is probably already a real part of how you price — "10 units at this price, 50 units at a lower one, 200 and above at lower still." The question is where that pricing logic actually lives. For a lot of businesses, the honest answer is a spreadsheet someone built once, that a sales rep has to remember to open and cross-reference every time they quote a large order.

CareSuite's distributor price tiers (care_distributor_price_tiers) put that logic directly in the CRM instead: each row defines a product, a minimum quantity, and the unit price that applies at that quantity and above. Quoting a bulk order becomes a lookup against structured data your CRM already knows about, rather than a second system someone has to keep open and keep in sync by hand.

The failure mode a spreadsheet invites is quiet and easy to miss: pricing drifts out of date, someone quotes an old tier because they had last quarter's version open, or a new hire never gets pointed at the sheet at all and just guesses. None of those show up as an obvious error — they show up as inconsistent quotes across your sales team, which customers notice even when your team doesn't.

Keeping quantity breaks as structured pricing tiers tied directly to the product means every quote pulls from the same current source, regardless of who's writing it. It's a small, specific feature — one table, three real fields — but it's solving a problem that a lot of distributor-facing businesses are currently solving with a spreadsheet and hope.
